The Longhorn Band has had a very busy summer so far, with Keith and Kevin teaching Western Swing Fiddle and Guitar at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend, Washington over the week of July 4th.
Dean Rankin joined the action for a concert at the McCurdy Pavillion on Independence Day with the help of the fabulous McCrae Sisters with their three-part vocal harmonies on some Western Swing standards, done West-Coast style.
The whole Longhorn Band will be back together for the annual Pioneers of Western Swing gathering August 12th-15th in Auburn, Washington. The venue has a great dance floor and lots of comfortable seating, and the weekend will feature many bands from the Northwest, California, and the Southwest.
